Every few years, some overly smug marketing exec comes along with an idea like this - create a faux celebrity/product, and show those silly masses exactly how easily manipulated they are. Did anybody else know/care about “Scarlet”?

No offense to Miss Sansone and her team - they were more charming and capable than most. However, as a person who can’t watch television news for more than five minutes without losing some degree of faith in humanity, I get extremely frustrated whenever web producers try to duplicate the “attractive talking head” model of television. In a medium with infinite potential for interactivity and access, the last thing we should want or need is more layers between us and content.
